Establishing a network of knowledge is key to ensuring Local OH&S Representatives have the skills and knowledge required to assist and advocate for the safety of their colleagues at work, and encouraging OH&S Representatives to take more active roles in promoting health and safety initiatives.
This full-day virtual workshop (0900-1600) will focus on providing OH&S Reps with valuable tools and resources to address OH&S issues and make their workplaces safe and healthy. During the workshop, we will discuss:
- Roles & Responsibilities of the OH&S Rep
- Building Effective Local & Joint Committees
- Violence in the Workplace

FUNDING AVAILABLE:
- There is a total of 48 provincially funded seats available for this event.
- As per Membership Policy 065-M-2023,
- Funding, as per the budget, shall be first allocated within the target group identified, Local OH&S Representatives as identified in SUN's database or designates, by random draw.
- Remaining seats will be allocated to non-treasurers via random draw.
- Funding for this workshop will be limited to wages (income continuance for paid union leave or 8.0 hours for attending on a day off).
- Funding, as per the budget, shall be first allocated within the target group identified, Local OH&S Representatives as identified in SUN's database or designates, by random draw.
- To be eligible for funding, applicants must:
- Register to attend the workshop
- Select "Request Provincial Funding" option when registering.
- Register by funding deadline noted below.
